Shifts are able to display a specific colour associated with their Shift Definition when shown on the Roster Admin page, the Work Roster page, the My Roster page, and the Roster Admin download.

Defining Shift Colours:

Use normal configuration procedures on the Configuration -> Roster -> Shift Definition page to set colours for various shifts.  If you do not define specific colours for a shift then those from the Configuration -> System -> Colour definitions will be used, i.e. the normal default colour.

Two colours can be defined for each Shift Definition, a Worker Colour and a Crew Colour.  These can both be the same or either or both can be left blank if desired.  When left blank, the default colour will be used.  The Worker Colour will be used to display on a "worker" row in the roster view and the Crew Colour will be used on the Crew group row when grouping by Crew in the roster view.

Colour values are set with a colour HEX value.  There are many colour pickers available on the internet.  This one is generally useful: Colour Picker.

Displaying Shift Colours:

In this screen shot, the Night shift has specific colours defined whereas the Day shift is using the default colours.

If after updating colours they do not show on the roster view (or other page) just refresh that page (F5) to load the new colour settings.

The shift colours normally only apply to rostered shifts.  Shift changes will still show the colour associated with the specific change.  However, there is an option to override this so that all shifts are displayed with the shift colour rather than the change colour.  This is a system setting so if you desire this in your configuration please raise a ticket requesting the configuration change.
