Shift Offers are a continuation of the "Find Cover" process where messages can be sent to candidate Workers, directly to their mobile app or optionally by email or SMS.

The automated feature only affects mobile app messaging for Shift Offers.  If it is used, for a specific Shift Offer, the email and SMS messages are not sent.

When the automated feature is enabled, you can send the messages in bulk, or you can have ROSTERkey schedule the messages to each candidate in sequence at a specified time interval.  The message will be sent to the first candidate immediately.

If a candidate does not accept of decline a shift offer, at the specified interval their message is "expired" and the message is sent to the next candidate in the list.  If no candidates accept the shift offer then once all candidates have declined or expired, the shift offer is also expired.

If a candidate declines a shift offer, the message is sent immediately to the next candidate in the list.

If a candidate accepts a shift offer, the automated messaging is stopped.

There are several settings for how this feature can be used:

  1. Bulk Only, i.,e. no automated messaging is available.  All messages are sent at the same time.
    1. This is the default setting.  If you wish to use any of the other settings please contact your ROSTERkey support representative.
  2. Bulk Default: by default, messages are sent at the same time but automated messaging can be used on individual Shift Offers
  3. Automated Default: by default, the automated process will be set for a Shift Offer.  Individual Shift Offers can use bulk messaging if desired.
  4. Automated Only: only automated messaging can be used.

For automated messaging, there is a default interval of 20 minutes.  This can be changed for any individual Shift Offer.  To have your default value changed, please contact your ROSTERkey support representative.
