A typical ROSTERkey configuration operates with pre-defined roster patterns to allocate Workers to Shifts. However, there are circumstances where a Worker may have default shift assignments that do not follow any identifiable pattern. When this occurs, it is possible to "define their roster" by creating ad hoc Swings.
Ad hoc swings are set up on the Roster Administration page. You create an ad hoc Swing for each set of consecutive days that are for the same Shift. Locate the worker and select the cells. Then use the right-click menu to select "Adhoc Swing" and select the desired Shift.
This will then show the Create Roster Change form in the working window. Select the desired Role, Team, and Location as needed. Adjust the dates and the Shift Definition if required. Click the Apply button.
The Worker will then have a DRAFT change created for the entered details.
Continue creating ad hoc Swings as needed.
These are all DRAFT changes. At any time you can publish them with the normal process.
Once you have published the ad hoc swings, they will disappear from the change summary table. However, if you wish to view them in that table, use the display options to toggle their visibility on and off.
N.B. this is a free, optional feature and not available by default. If you wish to take advantage of "ad hoc Swings", please contact your support representative.
