A segment of a pattern within a Roster is called a "Swing". For example, below, "1" represents the swing comprised of 6 shifts, "R,D,D,N,N,N", "2" represents a Swing of 5 shifts, "D,D,D,N,N", and "3" represents "D,D,N,N". Other swings continue through the roster pattern.
In the Roster Administration page you can assign shifts as overtime to empty cells for a Worker if desired. Also, it is possible to assign an entire Swing or part-thereof in one process. Select the cells in which overtime is be undertaken and then choose the "Assign Overtime by Swing..." menu item.
This process only applies to empty cells. If you choose days that already have assignments, the menu item will not be available.
The Assign Overtime window will then be displayed.
The dates of the cells you chose are displayed (1). You can choose from the available Swing patterns in the roster (2) to assign as overtime. You can also start at a different point in the new pattern (3), assign a Role to the shifts (4), and add notes to each created overtime record (5). You can also remove a row by hovering over the left of a row and clicking the "x" that appears.
You can also individually change a shift or role.

Once you are happy with the changes, click the "Re-assign" button. If you have not made changes or assigned every row you will be shown a message and the assignment will not take place. Otherwise you will be prompted to confirm.
Once you confirm, the assignments will be created as DRAFT roster changes. You can then remove or publish them as appropriate.
