ROSTERkey is able to manage Notes in multiple ways:
- A Note on a single Worker cell.
- A Note across multiple Worker cells.
- A General Note that is not attributed to any specific Worker.
Single-cell Notes:
To manage single cell Notes, refer to the Multi-cell Notes and simply select only a single cell to apply the Note to.
General Notes:
A Note can be applied to a "date" rather than be associated with a Worker.
You can then add text that will appear only to Managers or to all users. Private messages are not applicable to General Notes.
The Note text will display in the column header hover tooltip which will have the top left corner tagged to indicate there is a Note on that date.
Multi-cell Notes:
ROSTERkey is able to add Notes to a single Worker cell or to more than one cell at a time. You can then edit the collective notes together or individually.
To start, select the cells on which the Notes will be applied, right-click, and select "Create new Worker note...".
The standard Note editing form is then displayed, indicating the dates to which the Note will be applied. Enter your note and click Apply.
The standard Manager/Public/Private rules still apply, i.e.
Manager Note | only visible to Managers |
Public Note | visible to all users |
Private Note | visible to the Worker to whom the Note is attached and to all Managers |
The Note indicator appears on each affected cell and the Note text is included in the tooltip for all affected cells.
Now, when you right-click any of the cells, you are presented with an option to create a new Note or edit the collective Note.
Editing the collective Note will apply changes to each cell. If you create a new Note, then the Note on the other cells will not change and a new Note, now detached from the collective Notes, will be created for that day.
You can still edit the collective Note by accessing it on any of the other cells, and the appropriate dates are indicated.
